Small Axe

A fluid online-to-offline activation amplifying Black voices.

For the launch of Amazon’s Studios tentpole series, Small Axe, we created a culturally-relevant, multidimensional IRL-to-URL activation. Written and directed by Steve McQueen, the anthology unpacks the plight of the Black experience through five untold stories. Building on Small Axe’s mission of amplifying Black voices, we came up with a 360 approach to celebrate the joy and resilience of the community and the culture. We created a fluid online-to-offline experience, including a dynamic zine featuring Black creatives, a virtual hub for activist discussion, and an interactive drive-thru experience in Inglewood, CA with a community giveback component.
